You Angel fans are really quick to turn on your own. What's wrong with someone going to the team that is willing to give them the most money? I'd do it if I were in those shoes and you would too. Be mad at the owner for not spending more.
Adam, it's more about our hatred for the Yankees. And this is sports, it's what every fan says when a player leaves the team for money. As a person, sure I agree. As a fan, douche.
Oh, believe you me, I'm pissed at Arte. He said when he bought the team that he would spend to win and he hasn't. I believe the quote was,"I want to be the west coast Yankees."
Yeah...that's not going to happen when you give up the #1 first basemen in the majors, not to mention you gave up a future all-star first basemen to get him and now you don't have squat.
Teix would be the only guy I would give my blessing to beat his wife.
1)Arte has "spent to win" since day one. I guess you forgot how in his first offseason as owner, Arte signed five free agents for $146.3 million, most in the majors and nearly as much as the $183.5 million he spent to purchase the team. Give the brass some credit for NOT being like the Yankees who year after year throw money at every available player without much regard for their value to the team. This is exactly why they have sucked the last few years, because all those huge contracts came back to bite them (see Giambi). This season, they look like they actually made a quality haul, but don't diss Arte for spending wisely and don't tell me he won't spend.
2)In regards to Teixiera, you need to face the cold reality that the guy just didn't want to play here and stop pointing fingers and blaming your leaders. Arte made a very strong OPENING OFFER to Boras, fully willing to go higher and compete with any other team as the negotiations progressed. But the negotiations did not progress because Teix did not want to be here. When you offer 180+ million and don't hear a peep of response, you expect anyone to call back and increase their offer? This is called bidding against yourself and it's about as boneheaded and weak as you can get. Teix is a lifelong Yankee fan. His hero was Don Mattingly. How can you blame him for wanting to play his hero's position on his lifelong favorite team? Stop being a big baby and just deal with the fact that he just wasn't that into you. MOVE ON!
Arte didn't "give up" the #1 first baseman. It's called free agency. It's not like they didn't do everything they could to re-sign him. They put every other angle on hold until the Teix thing was resolved. They made him a very strong offer and waited to hear a counteroffer which they never did. They were not outbid because they were not included in the bidding.

So glad his wife "chose" where she could shop--er, I mean where he could play.

Sorry Kor, you are not being fair here.

Teix = douchbag (and anyone who sticks up for the guy). Mark it.
Your new number 25 Yankee jersey come in the mail yet, Kumpart?
Did you just call me a douchebag?
Come on Kor, this childishness you are displaying is not befitting of an Angel fan. You're better than this.
